Alamance Children’s Theatre (ACT) will present Honk! at the Paramount Theater in downtown Burlington, NC. Honk won the 2000 Olivier Award (Britain’s version of the Tony Award) for Best Musical, winning over both Mamma Mia and Disney’s The Lion King, and has winged its way around the world in over 8,000 productions and in many different languages. This heartwarming celebration of being different is sure to delight audiences of all ages with its sparkling wit and memorable score.

Ugly looks quite a bit different, and others are quick to notice and point this out. Feeling poorly about himself, Ugly embarks on an adventure of self-discovery, along the way meeting a host of unique characters and learning that being different is something to celebrate.

Some rehearsals with minimal called cast members may be at locations other than Alamance Lutheran. Not all cast members will be scheduled for each rehearsal but each cast member will be expected to attend all of the rehearsals for which he or she is scheduled.

Tech week begins on Sunday, September 29, 2019 with rehearsals each day/night at the Paramount Theater. Tech Week rehearsals may extend to 10:30 pm at the latest. All cast & crew MUST be present this week with no exceptions!

All cast and tech crew members must be present for all regular performances and the “School Shows.” The Alamance-Burlington School System as well as other schools have previously recognized School Show performance days as excused absences for cast and crew members.

Auditionees should be aware that participation in other productions that overlap and create conflicts with rehearsals for Honk! may be considered in casting decisions.
